Kadayawan Festival Mascots

These mascots for the Kadayawan thanksgiving festival at Davao were done for my Computer Graphics class. Since I don't have Illustrator, I just made do with my (VERY glitchy) copy of Inkscape and pulled out most of the stops (I got particularly lazy at some points, notably the lower sleeves of the male mascot). After about 5 hours of laboring...plus a few minutes of chatting in #prosapologian and sketching character designs and fanarts on my trusty sketchpad (thumps the ream of paper sitting in front his keyboard)...I managed to come up with this.

Not bad for my first stock-based vector trace, I'd say, but I feel I'm becoming more and more ambitious by the second.
